
Claire Clyne was born in Glendale, California, in 1987, the third of five children, and only daughter. Her piano studies began at age six. From age eight until eighteen she studied under Julie Adams and then continued her piano instruction with Michi Swanson at Andante Piano Studio while simultaneously attending Mt. San Jacinto College.
From 1999-2003 Claire was invited to perform at the California State Convention of Music Teachers each year. She was awarded 2 silver medals and 1 gold medal from 2002-2005 in the Awana Clubs International Fine Arts Piano Competitions in Chicago, Omaha, and St. Louis. In 2003, the Southern California Fair awarded her the Ethel M. Silver Fine Arts Piano Scholarship, and she placed 2nd in the California Talents for Christ Competition. In 2005, she placed 1st in California, and 5th in the National Talents for Christ Competition in Lakeland, Florida. In 2006-2007 she was chosen to perform at both the MTAC honors and state convention recitals.
Claire has been the pianist for Menifee Valley Church since 2000 and has been a member of the Sun City United Methodist Church Bell Choir since 2006. As she transfers to Dallas Baptist University in the fall of 2007, she will be majoring in piano performance and music education, studying with Dr. Richard Baca.
