Hyun-Ae Ro was born in Korea in 1980. Her mother was a piano teacher, and her father was a pastor. Hyun-Ae began formal piano lessons at the age of 5 because her parents had a strong desire for her to play in her father's church services. This training propelled her love for music and led to opportunities for teaching piano and studying music abroad.
Hyun-Ae's dreams became a reality when she arrived in the United States in 2002. She auditioned for music scholarships at Dallas Baptist University and was awarded the Lenore Hall Music Scholarship. Hyun-Ae is a piano performance major under Dr. Beth Quillian. She will complete her bachelor's degree in May of 2007.
